Dr. Riley Smith
BBiomedSci MBBS FRACGP
Dr Riley Smith grew up in Melbourne and first completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at La Trobe University. He then went on to study a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Notre Dame in Sydney. Following graduation, he undertook several years of hospital training at the Austin Hospital, focusing primarily on orthopaedics and plastic surgery. Dr Smith was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2021.
Dr Smith brings a wealth of experience to his role, supported by advanced training including a Certificate of Dermoscopy and a Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine. Dr Smith is a member of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. Prior to conseulting from Surrey Street Family Clinic, Dr Smith has also worked at a dedicated skin cancer clinic, further strengthening his expertise in this subspecialty.

Skin cancer subspecialty focus:
Dr Smith has a particular subspecialty interest in the diagnosis, management, and removal of skin cancers, including melanoma. His expertise covers both non-surgical and surgical management.
Non-surgical management:
- Topical creams
- Cryotherapy
- Curettage and diathermy
Surgical management:
- Shave and punch biopsies
- Primary excisions
- Full-thickness skin grafting
- Flap reconstruction repair for skin cancer
Outside of work, Dr Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children. He is also a keen golfer and makes time to play whenever he can.
