Antony Hirst
B App Sc Physio
Antony graduated from Philip Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement in 1987 and graduated from Latrobe University with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy in 1992. He has been in private practice since graduation and has a wealth of experience. He has a keen interest in the management of acute backpain, chronic hip pain, post-operative rehabilitation and an exercise-based approach to musculoskeletal injury management.
Antony is an experienced musculoskeletal therapist with an emphasis on complimentary manual therapy and treating the patient not just the problem. He has been practising on the Mornington Peninsula since he graduated and we are delighted to have him join our team.
Antony continues to be involved in a voluntary basis with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and the Mornington District Basketball Association serving as their president for the past seven years. Additionally, he is a regular guest lecturer to Masters students in physiotherapy studies at Swinburne University in Melbourne.
Antony, who is married with three children, is a keen golfer, travels when the opportunity arises (his favourite destinations in Australia are the Kimberley and Lord Howe Island) and enjoys open water swimming all year round.
