Doctor Profiles
Dr. Shuba Jeya Dev
BMed(Newcastle), FRACGP
Dr Shuba Jeya Dev grew up in Malaysia, before moving to Australia to pursue her lifelong ambition of becoming a doctor. She completed her Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle in 2009, followed by her residency in Newcastle.
Shuba then moved to Adelaide, where she spent two years undertaking paediatric training at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. It was during this time that she discovered general practice and developed a strong appreciation for the breadth of this speciality. General practice provided doctors the opportunity to care for patients across all stages of life, and emphasised importance of providing ongoing healthcare within the community.
After moving to Melbourne in 2012, Shuba commenced her general practice training in the central Gippsland region, and obtained her Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2015. She also has acquired her Advanced Certificate of Women’s Health with Bond University.
Shuba has worked across the Mornington Peninsula region since 2015, and for the past eight years, been part of the medical team at Eramosa Family Medical Centre. Over this time, she has developed particular interests in women’s health, mental health and the management of chronic medical conditions. She is also trained in contraceptive procedures, including Implanon and intrauterine device (IUD) insertion and removal procedures.
Shuba believes strongly in preventative healthcare and in working collaboratively with her patients. She values taking the time to understand each patient’s individual circumstances and helping them make informed decisions about their health.
Outside of medicine, Shuba enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. She leads an active lifestyle and enjoys gardening, music and long hikes with her family and friends.
