Staff Profiles

Dr. Luke van der Hoeven is our newest doctor to join Surrey Street Family Clinic.

Dr. Luke grew up in regional Victoria, before moving to Melbourne to study his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at Monash University. After graduating in 2013, he gained experience in multiple areas including paediatric medicine and mental health, before working as a registrar in Emergency Medicine at Monash Health.

He also took a few years to gain experience as an independent practitioner in remote communities in Western Australia, working in all facets of medicine.

He has now returned to Melbourne to start his career in general practice which he enjoys immensely. In particular he has a special interest in preventative health and travel medicine.

Outside of medicine, Luke plays the piano, and has travelled to over 70 countries!
